Waltham Walk First Aid Guide

E-mail Print PDF

This year the Waltham Walk will NOT have First Aid cover provided by either the St Johns Ambulance or the Red Cross, throughout the route. First aid kits will be available at all checkpoints. Should the occasion arise, however, it is necessary for teams be able to provide immediate emergency aid to cover for the period between any accident or incident and the arrival of professional assistance.

It is therefore the responsibility of each Supervisor to ensure that each team entered has:

  • At least one team member who has a basic understanding of First Aid

  • A First Aid Kit suitable for an outdoor expedition as detailed below

WW Basic Team First Aid Kit Requirement:

6 Sterile dressings (plasters) wrapped
1.Large sterile dressing (18cm x 18cm)
1.Triangular bandages
2 Antiseptic wipes (non – alcoholic)
1 Micropore tape
2 Melamine dressings

Personal Requirements (as appropriate to individual)
Hay Fever tablets, Asthma Inhalers

ALL FIRST AID ITEMS TO BE CARRIED IN A WATER PROOF CONTAINER

No general creams or potions are necessary, as people can be allergic to these.

Use clean water for wounds
